- 1 1/2 pounds whole baby bella mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel and trim the stems if needed.
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the mushrooms and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to brown and release their moisture.
- Stir in the garlic, salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir well to coat.
- Slowly pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and cream cheese, then stir until the sauce is creamy and slightly thickened.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and the sauce is rich and glossy.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
