A rich, gooey chocolate dessert with a crackly top and saucy pudding layer underneath.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place butter in baking dish and melt in oven.
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk and vanilla.
- Pour batter over melted butter.
- Sprinkle topping mix evenly over batter.
- Pour hot water over top.
- Bake 20-25 minutes.
- Cool 5 minutes and serve warm.
Notes
- Best served with vanilla ice cream.
- Store refrigerated for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in microwave or oven.
