Description
A quick and flavorful weeknight dinner featuring honey garlic smoked sausage, buttery rotini pasta, and glazed carrots.
Ingredients
- For the Sausage: 14 oz smoked sausage (sliced), 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp ketchup, 1 tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp black pepper
- For the Rotini: 8 oz rotini pasta, 2 tbsp butter, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp black pepper, ¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional)
- For the Carrots: 4 cups sliced carrots, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp brown sugar, ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Boil salted water and cook rotini as per package instructions. Drain, toss with butter, salt, pepper, and Parmesan. Set aside.
- Melt butter with olive oil in a skillet. Add sausage and cook 5–7 minutes until browned.
- Stir in honey, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes until glossy.
- Simmer carrots with water in a covered saucepan for 8–10 minutes until tender. Drain.
- Toss carrots with butter, brown sugar, and salt. Cook 1–2 minutes until glazed.
- Plate sausage, rotini, and carrots. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked smoked sausage for faster prep.
- Adjust honey for sweetness preference.
- Substitute rotini with any short pasta.
