Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for glaze)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for glaze)
  • Extra chocolate chips, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugar, oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Heat heavy cream until just steaming, then pour over chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
  7. Pour chocolate glaze over the cooled loaf cake and sprinkle with additional chocolate chips.
  8. Let glaze set slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips in the glaze.
