A quick and delicious one-pan meal featuring tender steak, flavorful rice, and melted cheese.

- 1½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ cups long-grain white rice
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season steak with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Add steak to the skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and bell pepper for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in rice and beef broth. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook on low heat for 15–18 minutes until rice is tender.
- Return steak to the skillet and gently mix with the rice.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Cover and cook for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a well-seasoned cast-iron skillet for best results.
- Adjust cheese types to your preference.
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
