Delicious chocolate chip cookie bars that are chewy, gooey, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper (or grease well).
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Whisk in eggs and vanilla until glossy and combined.
- Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir just until no dry flour remains (don’t overmix).
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Press batter evenly into the prepared pan and sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake 22–28 minutes, until the edges are set and lightly golden but the center still looks slightly soft (for gooey bars).
- Cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
Notes
- For extra gooey bars, slightly underbake.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
